NINETEE3 clothing has start up their online business in the year of 2017. It is initially a self-initiate project to tribute my university UNIMAS. It kicked start by the first lauching of #unimaslandmarktee! Started in Dec 2016, I illustrated notable landmarks from the campus with the similar art direction inspired by my FYP (Final Year Project). After a remarkable success, the brand NINETEE3 is established (in 2017)! (Nine-tee-3: '93, my birth year), The brand is gradually expanding its fan base after several launching of collections such as #unimaslovebridgetee, #unimasbadgepolotee and #unimaslittee; each with its distinct visual.




INSPIRATION & IDEA
UNIMAS is known for its modern architecture among the local university in Malaysia. I took inspiration from each building, (I called it "landmark"), and simplified them into line art style. The challenge part is to retain each distinctive details whist make each landmarks recognizable. I did visual studies (photography) before I went into illustration phase (the tricky part). I created the illustration with the same stroke width. Finally, I arrange the selected 4 landmarks with some added little elements to complete this lively craft. It is just big, illustrative and happening!

“Debut” visual is of utmost importance to attract the target audience.
The model posed in front of these notable Love Bridge and Water Tower whilst showing the trendy "love sign". This visual stimulates audience’s sense of engagement and belonging due to it familiarity among the campus student. The couple showcasing the chemistry whilst taking a stroll and being comfortable in front of the camera.

The first launched of #unimaslandmarktee is the most successful collection among the later one. Due to great feedback, it is launched in BLACK COLOUR in May 2018. Videography, Share & Win Contest (collaboration with local western cuisine restaurant) and bulk discount are part of the marketing strategy to convert sales volume.






The overall visual ads of this launching showcased not only the beauty of UNIMAS but Kuching's famous China-Malaysia Friendship Park as well. I really like the sunset vibes and light leaks which pull off a stunning effect! The video ads gone viral among students in various Facebook community and groups. Boomm! Resulting in a fruitful sales figures. While the next intakes (student) missing this chance, we added MAROON COLOUR in line with the X'mas season in December 2018.


This launching is about expression of siblings love! The twins showcased their natural interaction and worked the chemistry perfectly! Their girl-next-door look is appealed to the audience as well. In overall, the visuals exuded a warmth Christmas feeling! We also having a "throwback moment" by showcased the previous launching of #unimaslandmarketee series.

Continue the success of vol.1 #unimaslandmarktee, the #unimaslovebridgetee is the first series launch under the official brand of NINETEE3.

The spot is known for it demanding view and kayaking activities on the lake. It pulls off wonderful magic when sunset falls.

INSPIRATION & IDEA
The #unimaslovebridgete is about spreading love with an old school charm! It is inspired by the breathtaking sunset view on the Love Bridge. People (well, especially couple) enjoying to watch the sunset at this spot!
The golden hour did not do it wonder in the rainy season. However, several angles are captured despite of the bad weather and packed timeline. I studied vintage design and explored different typeface and layout composition. The photo is touched up with few colours gradient which pull off a sunset nostalgia feel (luckily the bad weather didn't really affect much as I thought).

When this ads is posted on Facebook page, it shown increase in post engagement. Regardless of the underwhelming background, the models spark chemistry which called attention. The photo shoot took place in several tourists spots to showcase the beauty of Kuching City.


The #unimaslovebridgetee has moderate success compare to the first series. The limitation on colour choices and combination might be the factor. However, the Love Bridge tee is a "worth-to -try" for further marketing purpose.

INSPIRATION & IDEA
The idea behind is to put the essential elements (love bridge, lake, architecture) of UNIMAS into a single badge design. #unimasbadgepolotee is simple, striking and bold with a sporty touch! I am inspired by the logo (badge) of western sport team and institution. Therefore, again, I always hoping to bring some new elements in. I played off with 6 colour choices of polo tee (instead of crew neck tees) for all skin colours. Smart-casual and outdoor activities? just suit up in #unimasbadgepolotee!

The #unimasbadgepolotee has build up some momentum in term of brand exposure. Buyers loved the variety of colour choices (top choices: Maroon, Navy and Black) available in this series! The small scale design also attracted those who prefer minimal design (simple, trendy and timeless) instead of big illustration.

INSPIRATION & IDEA
I always have this vision to design something with street wear vibes! I mean, it is time to bring some SWAG (I mean coolness) in the campus after the previous colourful and fun series. The wait is over!
Being a geography geek, I am inspired by the coat of arms/national flag of the European country. I thought it is really cool to incorporate something like this. Throughout the visual study of local and international street wear brand, I came across with this REFLECTIVE thing! It is something I don't pay attention to when it can be found on safety attire. Combining these concepts, #unimaslittee (illuminate) is launched with a punch of coolness!

Lit It Up


The #unimaslittee has above moderate success. There is an increase in male buyer due to that coolness look it expressed. Visual ads can be improved by having group photo shooting to display the image of "cool sqaud" which is certainly more engaging. This can stimulate more group purchasing through tagging and commenting of Fb post. There is always room of improvement and I just keep exploring!

Suit Up with A Good Course
In conjunction of the warmth Christmas season, I take this opportunity to promote love towards pets! The idea of charity marketing strategy just sparked in my mind! Nothing is better than doing good deeds to wrap up the year of 2018!
This season is all about GIVING, CARING & LOVING. Therefore the stray cat and dogs needed our help, little by little! I hope to create a casual and cute embroidery tee, which everyone simply adore. Besides, cases of rabies virus is still a hot issue in our state. Datin Dona Drury Wee, the President of SSPCA and us are hoping to spread awareness of owners' responsibility for further rabies prevention.
Thus, every shirt purchased will contribute RM3 to SSPCA (Sarawak Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals)! Each of us can make a difference now. Together we make change!

VISUAL STUDY
5 colours of 100% comfy cotton tee and 5 pets (cats &dogs) are choosen. It was really hard to pick which pets to be illustrated! hah! Corgi and Husky definitely comes in my mind due its popularity across social media. Golden Retriever, Persian Cat, and so called "Typical Cat" (show no biased right haha) followed to fill the spots!
Each colour schemes is studied to match with the colour of t-shirts. This results in only 5 choices availability to trigger faster purchasing behaviour.
